Why Costa Rica?

Because people live longer and are happier than just about anywhere else in the world and why not, with Universal Health Care and Great Education! .more.

Imagine waking up in a room bathed in sunshine with the temperatures about 75-80 degrees year round and a view of the Pacific.

For Sale – A 70 acre coffee farm in Costa Rica conveniently located within one hour from everything.  An ideal area for developing an ecologically sustainable community in beautiful Costa Rica where the weather is always nice and the year around temperatures are in the 70s and 80s.  The farm is in the San Ramon area on the western slopes of Costa Rica in a rich coffee growing area just 30 minutes from the city of San Ramon and less than an hour from the airport and beaches. The farm is bordered on two sides by dead end public roads.  Ideal for creating a community- 20 titled lots for homes on this incredible 70 acre farm with forest, ocean views, waterfalls, springs, wildlife, trails, fruit trees and, of course, 20 acres in great coffee.  Our coffee is certified sustainable by the RainForest Alliance and is much sought after Arabic Catuai Variety.

At this point the project needs new energy and blood. The current owners have moved on to other things and thus the farm is for sale. We are offering the farm for sale at what we have invested to find someone interesting in continuing the project development.

Priced at $695,000 with all utilities and $895,000 with paved roads.

Accomplishments

Much has been accomplished in the past three years; through better care, we have managed to get the coffee production from 600 pounds of green beans to over 18,000 pounds for 2015. In addition more than 5,000 new coffee plants and 200 fruit trees were planted. Plans are to create a second cash crop of avocadoes, mangos or citrus. The one and one-half miles of interior roads were cleared and 20 homesites were surveyed and registered (titled) for individual ownership. A pond for tilapia was excavated along the stream, now stocked with thousands of fish, and a picnic area created around the pond. A large, flat area of two acres was cleared for growing food for the community and areas has been identified for raising cattle, pigs and chickens. A rough caretaker / picker home is on the property with running water, bathroom and electricity. Six of the twenty building sites, along with a new site for the resident caretaker have been prepared and are ready for construction. There is even talk of the existence of an old gold mind on the farm.
